Hulu Says PREY Is Their Biggest Movie or TV Series Premiere Ever
Hulu’s badass Predator movie, Prey, ended up being a huge success for the streaming service. The period sci-fi action thriller has the most viewing hours ever on the Disney-owned streamer in its first three days among all movies and TV series. So, Prey is the biggest movie or TV premiere ever for the streaming service.
While this is their claim, Hulu and Disney are not releasing the specific number of hours the Prey was viewed. I’m not surprised that it was a big hit though. The movie was great, and I think that it would’ve been a big box office success. But, Disney and 20th Century Fox decided to not to go that route, which is a shame! This movie is such a better viewing experience on the big screen.
The story is set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, and the story follows a Predator who is dropped off on Earth to hunt. On his journey, he finds himself facing off with a tribe of Comanche warriors, one in particular who is looking to prove that she can be a great warrior.
The movie was directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane), and follows a young woman named Naru, “a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.”
The film’s cast includes Amber Midthunder (The Ice Road, Roswell, New Mexico), newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (Sooyii), Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home), and Julian Black Antelope (Tribal).
