Hulu Will Offer Disney+ as an Add-On

For those of you who already subscribe to the Disney-owned Hulu, you’ll be happy to learn that Disney+ will be offered as an add-on to the streaming service, which will make it easier for some people to subscribe.

The news came from Hulu’s SVP of Originals, Craig Erwich, from the recent Television Critics Association. Hulu and Amazon offer other TV premium service add-ons like HBO, CBS All Access, and more. So, it’s not really that surprising that Disney+ would be offered as an add-on to Hulu.

The fact that Disney owns Hulu will make it easy to remind all the current subscribers that they can add Disney+ onto the service. It’s actually a pretty powerful marketing tool to get people to sign up fast.

The big question for subscribers is will they want to subscribe through Hulu or through a standalone Disney+ service? In the end it won’t matter because the same content will be made available through both.

With Disney owning both Hulu and Disney+, I wonder if they will offer some kind of a discounted rate if you subscribe through Hulu. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

As it currently stands, Disney+ will cost $6.99 a month and it will launch on November 12th.
