HUMAN Trailer Teases a “Stomach-Churning” Twisted Supernatural Horror Nightmare
A little late-night digital debauchery sounds harmless enough. For Dani Ferris, it turns into a blood-soaked supernatural nightmare packed with guns, heartbreak, chaos, and some seriously gnarly practical gore.
Dark Sky Films has released the trailer for Human, and it offers a wild taste of the horror waiting for Dani when a sleepless night takes a horrific turn.
Here’s the official synopsis: “It’s past midnight, and Dani Ferris is all alone. Away from home. Tired as hell. Not prepared for the roller coaster of emotions she’s about to ride front-row. Sleep? Lol. Nope.
“Tonight is a night for friends, lovers, enemies, frenemies, little guns, bigger guns, love, hate, life, death, and things a hell of a lot more super than natural. A night Dani will never forget. And neither will he.”
Director and producer Matt Stuertz keeps tightening the screws throughout the Human trailer, but it apparently holds back one of the movie’s biggest attractions: the gore.
Audiences at FrightFest and Obscura Film Fest got a much messier look at what Stuertz has cooked up, with the film earning attention for its stomach-churning practical effects.
Anyone familiar with his previous movie, Tonight She Comes, should have some idea of the filmmaker’s appetite for gross-out horror. That movie was a gnarly gorefest described as “disgusting as hell.”
It sounds like Human is ready to push things into similarly nasty territory, combining its supernatural story with practical effects designed to make audiences squirm.
The film stars Jackie Kelly (Hag, In Memory Of, Oscar Tango Hellwater), Brock Russell (Tonight She Comes, Revisions), Cecily Dowd (Black Card Teaser, Miss Valentine), Jeffrey Decker (Relentless, Mischief Beyond Mischief), and Mia Sydney (Ink of Ages, Mendocino).
David Neiss, who previously wrote Flush, penned the screenplay. If you like supernatural horror that isn't afraid to get bloody, disgusting, and completely unhinged, Human looks like one to keep on the radar.
The trailer gives us the escalating nightmare without spoiling much of the stomach-churning carnage audiences have been talking about.
