Humans Rise Up Against Their Alien Oppressors in New Trailer for CAPTIVE STATE

A new trailer has dropped for the upcoming sci-fi thriller Captive State, and it offers us our best look at the story yet.

Captive State was directed by Rupert Wyatt’s (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), and it is set in a Chicago neighborhood ten years after an alien invades Earth and takes it over. The majority of the people seem to be happy with the alien occupation, but there’s a small group of rebels who feel that something more sinister is going on and are looking to rise up against their alien oppressors and go to war with them.

I like what I’ve seen from this film so far, and while it may not end up being a big popular hit, I think it will end up being a solid film worth checking out.

The movie also has a great cast that includes John Goodman, Ashton Sanders (Moonlight), Jonathan Majors (When We Rise), and Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring).

Focus Features will release the film in theaters on March 29th, 2019.

After 10 years of occupation, some chose cooperation, others chose resistance. Watch the new trailer for #CaptiveState - in theaters this March. Set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force, "Captive State" explores the lives on both sides of the conflict - the collaborators and dissidents.
