HyperKin Reveals the RetroN Jr. for Playing GameBoy Games on Your TV
Last week, HyperKin revealed something that retro gamers are going to love. The RetroN Jr. will let you play your GameBoy, GameBoy Color, and GameBoy Advance games on your HD TV. The box will even upscale your games to 720p via emulation. The RetroN Jr. was an April Fool’s joke back in 2017, but I guess the team must’ve had a change of heart to make it real.
The RetroN Jr. will feature an HDMI port and composite connectors for your A/V ports. A USB-C port will help provide power to the system. The final port on the back is for the original Link Port connector, but apparently HyperKin has not divulged the use of that port yet. On the front, you’ll find a headphone jack complete with a volume dial. In addition a USB-A port is available, probably to connect a wired controller like the one that comes with it.
The RetroN Jr. is still in development so there’s still plenty we don’t know about it yet, but I think this could be really cool. Are you excited?
