Ian McShane Joins David Harbour in HELLBOY: RISE OF THE BLOOD QUEEN
The upcoming Hellboy reboot just got a little more exciting. THR is reporting that American Gods star Ian McShane has been cast in the film and he will be taking on the role of Hellboy’s adoptive father, Professor Broom! I love this casting! The character was previously played by John Hurt and he was fantastic!
McShane joins David Harbour, who is taking on the lead role of the film, which is called Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen. The Neil Marshall directed film will tell the story of Hellboy as he squares off against "a medieval sorceress who seeks to destroy humankind."
I imagine we'll start seeing more casting announcement over the next month as the film is supposed to start shooting in September. McShane is a fine actor who is a great choice to fill the role. It'll be interesting to see who ends up being cast as the other main characters.
