Ian McShane Offer New Insight into BALLERINA and Winston's Knowledge of Ana de Armas’s Character, "Baby Yaga"

While speaking with Collider at CCXP, Ian McShane offered some new insight into the upcoming John Wick spinoff film Ballerina and explains that Winsto already knows Ana de Armas’s character at the start of the movie, describing her as the “Baby Yaga.”

He said: “I know secrets about her that she will try to find out later on. Obviously, I kept tabs on her over the years since she’s been under the ballet tutelage of the character of Anjelica Huston. But Winston, you still don’t know who he is, which is kind of nice. He’s the more enigmatic character.

He adds: “At the end of the movie — I’m not giving anything away — you still don’t know more about the relationship. All I can say is that he admires her.

“I mean, a ballerina and an assassin? That’s a lethal combination. He tries to warn her, but of course, she ignores him completely. But it’ll be interesting. She is the Baby Yaga; John Wick is the Baba Yaga.”

The movie is set between John Wick 3 and John Wick 4, and the story focuses on a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family.

The movie was directed by Underworld and Total Recall director Len Wiseman also stars Anjelica Huston, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Gabriel Byrne, and the late Lance Reddick also star with Keanu Reeves.

Ballerina is set to be released in June 6, 2025.
