ID Channel Making TIGER KING Follow-Up Titled INVESTIGATING THE STRANGE WORLD OF JOE EXOTIC

If you’re in the majority of people with access to Netflix who are practicing social distancing during this crazy time, you have probably watched the Netflix docuseries, Tiger King. The insane show follows the people at the heart of America’s “big cat community,” namely Joe Exotic, former owner of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park, and his employees, fellow big cat park owners, his foes and nemeses, murder plots, husbands, and fans. The series just gets weirder as you go along, and it’s like a train wreck you can’t look away from.

For those of you who wished there was more to the story than the handful of episodes in the doc, the ID channel has got your back. They are developing a follow-up to Tiger King, called Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic. Deadline says this series asks “questions such as whether Carole Baskin was a selfless protector of animals or whether she orchestrated the disappearance of her husband Don Lewis,” as well as claims “that it will reveal the ‘secrets’ that only Joe Exotic knows and features exclusive footage that has not aired. It will also ask what skeletons Joe is hiding, whether his conviction is justified, who is Jeff Lowe and what does the FBI know and what secrets lie hidden within Doc Antle’s walls.”

This sounds like it will be an interesting follow-up. I know there is a lot more to delve into within the story, as the conspiracies and secrets have barely begun to be dissected. Henry Schleiff, Group President of ID, said this of the project:

“Viewers are understandably riveted by Netflix’s Tiger King, but the millions of true crime fans around the world were left wanting more.  ID is the perfect place to find the inevitable sequel to this drama – featuring a missing husband, a hit man, and the illegal business of exotic animals.  It’s time to let the cat out of the bag and address the lingering questions that viewers demand be answered.”
