Idris Elba Cast as the Voice of Knuckles in SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2
Idris Elba (The Suicide Squad) has announced that he will be providing the voice of Knuckles in Paramount Pictures’ Sonic The Hedgehog 2. I love this casting! I never would have imagined Elba being a part of this movie, yet here he is, and it’s going to be fun to see what he does with the character.
Knuckles is the red anthropomorphic short-beaked echidna who is determined and serious, but sometimes gullible. He’s also a hothead and a powerful fighter with spiked hands.
Jeff Fowler is returning to direct the sequel and Elba will join the returning cast that includes James Marsden, Ben Schwartz, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, and Jim Carrey.
I actually enjoyed the first film more than I thought I would. It was a great time, and I hope that the sequel will be just as good. What I’m actually looking forward to in the sequel is seeing Carrey back in the role of Robotnik. He was one of my favorite parts of the first movie.
The film is set to be released in theaters on April 8th, 2022
