Idris Elba Set To Star in a Spy Thriller From Simon Kinberg For Apple TV+

Idris Elba is set to team up with Simon Kinberg (Star Wars: Rebels, X-Men, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) for a new spy-thriller that has been picked up by Apple TV+.

Elba will star and produce the film, which is described as a “spy movie with romance” set in Africa. Kinberg is set to produce and the film’s script comes from Travon Free (Black Monday, The Daily Show).

This isn’t the only spy thriller that Kinberg is developing. He is also working on the spy thriller 355 starring Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Penelope Cruz, Diane Kruger and Fan Bin Bing. He’s also producing Death on the Nile, the Agatha Christie mystery thriller from Kenneth Branagh.

There are no other details to share on the untitled spy film, but Elba usually tends to attach himself to solid projects, so I’ll be looking forward to seeing what comes of this.
