Idris Elba Shares New Teaser Trailer and Release Dates for LUTHER: THE FALLEN SUN
Idris Elba is retuning to the role of DCI John Luther in the upcoming movie Luther: The Fallen Sun. The actor portrayed the brilliant murder detective in the UK series Luther from 2010-2019, and the series concluded with his character imprisoned after nearly solving a case of a string of cyber serial murders. The film will pick up where the series left off, and Elba will be reunited with co-star Dermot Crowley, who is returning to play DSU Martin Schenk.
Newcomers to the cast include Cynthia Erivo (Bad Times at the El Royale, Harriet) and Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes).
Serkis recently spoke about his villainous character in the film, killer millionaire David Robey, saying, "When I first read the script, I almost wanted to throw it in the bin and have a shower. I don’t think I’ve come across anything quite as dark for a long time.”
