Idris Elba Teases the Return of LUTHER in Behind the Scenes Shot of the Netflix Film
Fans have been waiting for two years to hear more about the Luther film that will be the follow up to the beloved five season BBC series. Now we finally have word that the film is underway. Idris Elba, who plays DCI John Luther in the crime drama, has posted a couple of photos to Twitter and Instagram showing fans that the film, which landed at Netflix, has started shooting.
Jamie Payne, who directed episodes of Luther as well as The Alienist and Outlander, is directing the film from a script written by Luther creator Neil Cross. Elba is joined in the cast by Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis, though details about their characters have not been disclosed. The synopsis for the film has not yet been revealed, but based on the series, it will follow John Luther as he investigates the grisly murders on England’s streets.
I can’t wait for this film to be completed. Luther was one of my favorite series I’ve ever binged, and I can’t wait to get back into the dark world laid out in their stories. Check out the posts below, and let us know if you’re excited for the Luther movie to hit Netflix.
