Idris Elba Wants to See the Bloodsport vs. Superman Story Told in a DC Film
One of the more interesting things revealed in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad was the story of Idris Elba’s Bloodsport assassination attempt on Superman with a kryptonite bullet. That is the event that landed Bloodsport in prison, and Elba would love to see that Bloodsport vs. Superman story told in a DC movie, and so would I!
In a recent interview with Variety, Elba said, "I would definitely like to tell the Superman story. There's no doubt. Bloodsport versus Superman. It needs to happen." That’s definitely a story worth telling and it would be amazing to see the movie get made with Hanry Cavill reprising his role as Superman.
Now, Elba did tease that he has “a really big thing cooking for DC right now.” But, that could be any number of things. Of course, this Bloodshot and Superman story is a possibility, but no details on this project have been revealed. It would be cool if it was!
James Gunn is currently working on another DC project that is said to be a “really big thing.” He recently said, "I am working very seriously on another DC project, where I'm very involved in the writing and the direction of it. There will be some blending of the characters from Peacemaker in the other shows I'm working on. And I'm involved with a couple of other [DC] things too."
As for the future of Henry Cavill’s Superman in the DCEU, there’s no word on what is going on with that, but WB sure would be stupid not to bring him back for some more films!
