If THE BOYS Spinoff Series GEN V is a Success More Spinoffs Are Likely To Follow
The creative team behind The Boys has big plans for the franchise, and if the upcoming live-action spinoff series, Gen V, ends up being a success on Prime Video, there are more spinoffs coming that will continue to expand the world.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Vernon Sanders, the head of television at Amazon and MGM Studios discussed the future of The Boys, and the vision for it will entertain audiences for years! He said:
“I will say this: Eric has had a vision for what this all leads to for years now, and we’ve been in an ongoing conversation about what comes next. So, it’s probably premature to talk about that beyond saying we believe in Eric, and if Eric is interested in continuing the story, we’ll be the first ones in line to really work with him on what that is. But right now we’re super focused on Gen V and an amazing season 4 of The Boys, which I think is going to blow fans away.”
He went on to say:
“I think Seth and Evan and Eric are genuinely interested in it. I think we’ve been probably the ones who’ve been wanting to be careful not to overexpose. So, once we committed to Gen V, we really wanted that to be the next thing out. And once we have it out and get a chance to see how everyone’s reacting to it, we can start talking about, like I said, what comes next.”
With how popular The Boys is, I’m pretty confident that Gen V will be a big success. So, it’s going to be really interesting to see what’s in store for the future of the franchise and the stories and characters that they end up expanding on.
Gen V is “set at America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International), Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. It’s part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire, and raunch of The Boys.”
Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Chance Perdomo (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lizze Broadway (Bones), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters), London Thor (Shameless), Derek Luh (Shining Vale), Asa Germann (Caviar), Patrick Schwarzenegger (The Staircase), Sean Patrick Thomas (Barbershop), Marco Pigossi (Invisible City), and Clancy Brown.
The series comes from Eric Kripke, and it was also announced that it will launch with its first three episodes on September 29th. New episodes will roll out weekly until the Season 1 finale on November 3rd.
