IGN is Launching Remote Gaming Festival Next Month Called Summer of Gaming
E3 and San Diego Comic-Con may have been canceled this year, but gaming fans are still wanting something for all of their gaming convention needs. Well, IGN has decided to launch Summer of Gaming which is set to be a digital event and showcase that’ll take place in early June. It sounds like a digital/remote version of E3 to be honest with presentations, pre- and post-discussions, remote interviews, hands-on demos and impressions, gameplay, and more. This sounds great! In fact, IGN has been able to get a slew of publishers and developers on board including Blizzard, CD Projekt Red, Google Stadia, EA, Xbox, and Wizards of the Coast.
I am personally glad that there’s still going to be something like this for gaming fans to enjoy this year. I know a lot of people see events like this dying, but it’s a great way for even more casual gamers to stay in the know on the big titles. I’m a little surprised that E3 didn’t just do this, but I’m glad IGN is picking it up. I’m hoping we see more of Xbox Series X and I’d be shocked if we didn’t see more Cyberpunk 2077. What are you hoping for?
