I'm Not Sure What's Happening in This Japanese GHOSTBUSTERS Theme, But I Like It
By now even the most avid defenders of the new Ghostbusters have conceded that the new theme by Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott is pretty awful. Taking a note from that, Sony is moving in another direction for the film's Japanese release. They took the original song, updated it slightly, and translated it into the Japanese language.
The end result is a weird music video that contains some awkwardness in phrasing English to Japanese, but ultimately it's an infinitely better product than what we got here in the States. According to Slashfilm, the women featured in the video are actually prevalent Japanese comedians, so that might explain some of the silliness. Check out this bizarre video below!
