Impressive First Trailer For THE SHANNARA CHRONICLES

I've never been a big fan of anything that MTV has done, so I was completely surprised by what I saw in this trailer for their new fantasy series, The Shannara Chronicles. The show is based on a series of fantasy novels written by Terry Brooks.

The stuff that I see in this first three minute trailer is really quite impressive, and I honestly never thought I'd see anything of this epic scope on MTV. The trailer premiered at Comic-Con earlier today and you can watch it below.

The story is set after the destruction of our civilization in what is called the "great wars." The world was forced to revert back to a medieval state and magic.

The series stars Ivana Baquero as Eretria, Austin Butler as Wil Ohmsford, and Poppy Drayton as Amberle Elessedil, "three elves attempting to keep demons at bay after an enchanted tree begins to die."

The first two episodes of The Shannara Chronicles will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans).Al Gough and Miles Millar (Smallville) are writing the 10-episode series and are also executive producers. Jon Favreau (Iron Man) also serves as an executive producer. Let us know what you think of the trailer!
