IN THE HEIGHTS Featurette Talks About the Heart of the Story and Its Universality
A new featurette has been released for the musical film adaptation of In the Heights, based on the Broadway musical that was created by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegria Hudes. The clip features some behind-the-scenes looks at the massive dance numbers that were created for the film, and what is at the heart of the story for many of the actors in the movie.
In the Heights is set in Washington Heights in New York City and focuses on a bodega owner who is closing his store and retiring to the Dominican Republic after inheriting his grandmother’s fortune. The film is directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians), and stars Anthony Ramos (Hamilton, A Star is Born) as Usnavi de la Vega, Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) as Benny, Melissa Barrera (Vida) as Vanessa, and Leslie Grace as Nina Rosario. It also stars Miranda, Jimmy Smits, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Stephanie Beatriz, Olga Merediz, Gregory Diaz IV, Marc Anthony, and Dascha Polanco.
