INCREDIBLES 2 Tie-In Comics Will Show Us What Everyday Life is Like For the Parr Family

A lot of people are extremely excited for Incredibles 2 to come out this year. It has been a highly demanded film for the last 14 years. The sequel is set to pick up where the first one left off and it looks like there will be a small twist. Mr. Incredible will take on the task of watching the kids while his wife Elastigirl goes to work. If you’re excited for the film and want more Incredibles, Dark Horse Comics has you covered. Entertainment Weekly reports that Dark Horse plans to release two tie-in comics for the sequel. The first, Incredibles 2: Heroes at Home, will be a graphic novel suitable for all ages as it shows:

Dash and Violet taking care of housework while their parents are busy with new jobs. A trip to the grocery store becomes a superhero mission when they detect criminal activity, but even housework isn’t a simple task with their superpowered baby brother Jack-Jack wreaking havoc.

The second comic will be a three-issue miniseries Incredibles 2: Crisis in Mid-Life! & Other Stories. EW reports that this miniseries will include:

[T]wo parallel stories: “Crisis in Mid-Life!”, in which Mr. Incredible fights to stop the supervillain Bomb Voyage from ruining a new submarine dedication ceremony (causing the hero to question his own powers), and “Bedtime Story,” in which Mr. Incredible tells Jack-Jack a story from his glory days that Dash and Violet have never heard before. Each issue will also feature backup stories about Jack-Jack.

I think it’s great that we’ll get a look at the everyday life of heroes. I’ve always thought the idea of exploring this aspect of heroes could prove to be fun for an episode of a TV show, and I think as tie-in comics they’ll do well. Heroes at Home is written by Liz Marsham with Nicoletta Baldari illustrating. Crisis in Mid-Life! & Other Stories will be written by Christos Gage and Landry Q. Walker. Gurihiru, J.Bone, Andrea Greppi, and Roberta Zanotta will all work on the illustrations. No release date has been announced but we can expect them later this year. With Incredibles 2 releasing June 15, 2018, it wouldn’t be crazy to expect the comics around that time as well. Here’s the cover for the first issue of Crisis in Mid-Life! & Other Stories:
