Incredibly Detailed STAR WARS Toy Tribute Took 2,000 Hours to Paint

ArtMovie Star Wars by Ben Pearson

Artist Robert Burden spent a staggering 2,000 hours over the past 18 months painting this breathtaking tribute to the toys of Star Wars. Everyone knows that keeping the merchandising rights was the most shrewd business move George Lucas ever made, but removing cynicism from the equation, the sci-fi franchise produced tons and tons of toys that were a huge part of the childhoods of an entire generation.

Burden's oil painting stands at an astonishing 15 feet by 8 feet, and it includes over 150 toys from the Kenner toy line as well as a handful of Star Wars influences (like Flash Gordon) and cool easter eggs (like Indiana Jones). Those of you going to Star Wars Celebration this year in Anaheim will be able to see the full original painting on display, and if you have an extra $200,000, you can take it home with you. Otherwise, you can get a smaller print from his website for $250.
