Incredibly Intense Trailer for Sam Mendes's WWI Film 1917

Universal Pictures has released the incredible first trailer for director Sam Mendes’s upcoming World War I film 1917, and this looks like it’s going to be a super intense edge-of-your-seat thriller. I love watching historical war movies and this one is going to be great. We don’t see many films that explore WWI, so I’m happy to see that this ended up getting made.

Mendes is the same filmmaker that previously brought us Skyfall, Spectre, American Beauty, and Road to Perdition. He also brought on a great cast to star in the film and that cast includes Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Richard Madden, George MacKay, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Andrew Scott.

Here is the synopsis for the film:

At the height of the First World War, two young British soldiers, Schofield (Captain Fantastic’s George MacKay) and Blake (Game of Thrones’ Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers—Blake’s own brother among them.

1917 is set to get a limited release on December 25th, 2019 and then it will go wide on January 10th, 2020. Does this look like a movie that you’ll want to see?
