INDIANA JONES 5 Has a Cinematographer

It looks like Disney and Lucasfilm are preparing to move forward with a fifth Indiana Jones film. We knew it would eventually happen, and they are getting closer to making it a reality. It seems the studio has already hired a cinematographer to shoot the film, and that cinematographer's name is Janusz Kaminski. He has made several films with director Steven Spielberg.

Variety recently posted an article about an online filmmaking course being offered by cinematographers, and this short little paragraph was thrown in there:

"Since then, Kaminski has made more than a dozen films with Steven Spielberg, earning two Oscars along the way. His credits include Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan and The Diving Bell & the Butterfly. His next project is the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie."

It's really no surprise that Kaminski will be working on Indiana Jones 5, but the fact that it will be his next project is very interesting. That means it's already on his schedule, but it doesn't say when that will be. We've previously heard that Harrison Ford is open to coming back and reprising his role and that he was actually in negotiations with the studio at one point.

There's no word on whether Spielberg will come back to direct, but it wouldn't be a proper Indiana Jones movie without him. We'll just have to wait and see how this all pans out. Regardless of the awfulness of the last Indiana Jones movie, I'm still excited to see what they will do with this fifth installment.
