INDIANA JONES May Be Getting It's Own Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios
There’s been talk about the Indiana Jones franchise getting a land of its own at Walt Disney World for awhile. Well, now various Disney Imagineering teams have been given the job to design and flesh out what an Indiana Jones Land would look like.
According to the report, a mini-Indiana Jones Land is being planned out that would best fit in with Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It would replace the area of the park where the dated Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular currently resides, and would also fill out roughly 8 acres of additional land around it. Orlando Weekly adds:
“Multiple attractions would be featured in the new land, likely including a signature E-ticket style attraction… …the signature attraction for the Indy mini-land will be an indoor family attraction of some type that will use a previously realized ride system in a new way. Few details on the specifics of this ride have been shared by insiders, but it’s thought that this ride will compete with the two Star Wars rides as one of the park’s flagship attractions. As with Animal Kingdom’s plan, the DHS one does seem to include an outdoor roller coaster attraction. Both Disneyland Paris and Tokyo DisneySea have Intamin versions of the Pinfari TL-59 looping coasters.”
As a fan of Indiana Jones, it would be awesome to see a Land created for us to explore and have fun in. Indiana Jones is represented at Disneyland with the Indiana Jones ride, and as of right now there are no plans on adding any kind of Indian Jones Land at Disneyland in Anaheim.
The Indiana Jones Land is being developed as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebrations. The project is being viewed as a post-50th anniversary addition, and it plans for it goes through it would open sometime after 2021, but within the next 10 years.
Would you like to see them move forward with an Indiana Jones Land? What Indiana Jones themes and adventures would you like to see represented in the park?
