Indie Comedy CRABS IN A BUCKET Fills Out Its Fun Cast with Jeremy Piven, Bruce Dern, Jamie Kennedy, and More
The cast is rounding out for the upcoming Paulo Pilladi-directed comedy, Crabs In a Bucket, which was also written by Pilladi, alongside Greg Lingo. The pair are new on the scene, but have certainly gotten a solid cast to lead their story along. The cast includes Taryn Manning (Orange is the New Black), Zach McGowan (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Jamie Kennedy (the Scream movies), Bruce Dern (Nebraska), Jack McGee (The Fighter), Chris Kerson (True Detective), and Jeremy Piven (Entourage).
Deadline reports the following synopsis for the film:
The plot follows real estate developer Mick (Piven), who returns to his offbeat Philly childhood neighborhood for his mother’s Irish wake and discovers he’s been willed their ill-fated pub that his sleazy boss, Mr. Delvecchio (Pastore), wants to raze to gentrify the neighborhood. As Mick reconnects with his father Laurence (McGee) and deadbeat brother Dougal (McGowan), his old cronies remind him that roots run deep and old habits die hard. His budding relationship with his first love Ali (Manning) compounds Mick’s fight or flight decision to save the bar or his burgeoning career.
The movie is set to begin filming this month in New Jersey, with a release next year. Does this sound like a movie you’d be into?
