Info on Where Thanos Ended Up at the End of INFINITY WAR and The Directors Debunk a Soul Stone Fan Theory

We're going to talk about Thanos and where he ended up at the end of Avengers: Infinity War in this article. We are also going to talk about a fan theory regarding the Soul Stone that the directors of the film debunked. If you haven't seen the movie yet...

From beginning to end, the characters in Avengers: Infinity War barely had a moment to breathe or go to the bathroom. They were on edge the whole time trying to stop Thanos from collecting the stones and killing off half the universe. Unfortunately, they failed. Thanos accomplished his goal and the film ended with him relaxing in a quiet little farmhouse watching the sunrise.

During a recent interview with Uproxx, the directors shed some light on the final moments of the film that involved Thanos. Anthony Russo said:

"He’s like a holy warrior. Once he puts his armor down in that movie he becomes like a holy warrior and this is his resting place for him. He says in the film he’s just going to sit and watch the sunrise."

Joe Russo added that he accomplished his mission. It's at this point they are asked about the theory regarding Thanos being inside the Soul Stone during this moment. This is a popular fan theory that I've seen a lot of people discussing, but it's also a theory that they go on to debunk. When asked about it, Joe says, "No", and Anthony adds:

"Look, if you look at Thanos throughout the movie, what’s noble about the character is it’s not about ego for him. He believes that creatures and beings are suffering because of this. So he believes the road for the right way to peace and balance is through eradicating half of all life. And he believes that will bring balance and new life and peacefulness and joy to people – and he dedicates himself to that mission. His choices are remarkably focused on that. He’s not killing people he doesn’t need to kill. He only kills people in furtherance of that goal."

Joe goes on to talk about the madness of Thanos a little further, saying:

"Yeah, he ultimately is someone who murders people. Even though he says he does it without animosity and he wants it to be random – so there are altruistic components to his plan – but it’s a very warped plan. He’s not a mentally healthy individual. He’s clearly got some screws loose. It’s a messianic complex that he’s dealing with."

Thanos sacrificed so much in this movie including his daughter Gamora, which was the hardest thing for him. But he was willing to do what it took to achieve his goal and what he believes in, and in the end he was happy and satisfied with his actions. He truly is a Mad Titan.

Now we've just got to wait and see how the next chapter of the story will play out! How the Avengers will attempt to fix what happened!
