Insane New Footage From STAR WARS: RISE OF THE JEDI Features a Shocking Turn of Events!
Well, Lucasfilm screened some new footage of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker today at Disney’s D23 Expo and it was super-freakin’ mind-blowing! The crowd was screaming at the top of their lungs and then things took a crazy unexpected turn with the last shot that was a huge surprise to everyone and absolutely shocking!
The footage screened started out giving us a look back at all the past Star Wars films in the saga that have been made. There’s was also a voice over of Luke Skywalker saying, "We've passed on all we know. The thousand generations live in you now, but this is your fight."
It then gets to the actual footage of The Rise of Skywalker showing an epic scene of a huge fleet of ships in space facing off with each other. There’s footage of Rey cutting through some trees with her lightsaber. There’s a shot of Kylo walking away from his ship.
There’s another awesome clip that shows Rey and Kylo locked in a lightsaber battle surrounded by water where the wreckage of the Death Star is.
There’s a voiceover from Palpatine during this, saying, “it nears its end" and the big shocking reveal comes…. Are you ready for this? Just in case…
There’s a badass shot of Rey dresses in a black robe and she whips out a RED Lightsaber and this it splits into a duel wielding saber like Darth Maul’s lightsaber!
I have no idea what this means! Does Rey actually turn to the Dark Side!? Is she related to Palpatine?! This was a very unexpected turn that I wasn’t expecting and I can’t wait to see how this happens and plays out in the context of the story.
