Insanely Great and Awesomely Imaginative Stop-Motion Animated Short Film KID NATURE
I’ve got an incredible stop-motion animated film that you’ve got to watch! It titled Kid Nature, and it’s an awesome imagination-fueled film filled with humor, action, adventure, and heart.
I had the chance to me the young man behind this film at the Utah International Film Festival, which is where I saw the short. James Moutsos wrote, directed, and animated the film and he spent eight hours a day for three or four months making this thing.
The animation is so well done and so fluid. It’s amazing to see the kinds of dynamic shots that he managed accomplish in stop-motion when bringing this movie to life.
The film centers on “a rebellious, misfit kid trying to escape the mundanity of junior high.” So, he runs away into the woods, “only to be whisked away into an adventure full of excitement, hand to hand combat, monkeys, and friendship.”
Jeremy told me that his filmmaking style is heavily influenced by the films of Wes Anderson, in particual The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
I was seriously impressed by this film, and the movie just spoke to me. It capture my attention from the very beginning and didn’t let go. The movie just made me so damn happy and I had to share it with you!
So, please take the time to watch, enjoy, and share! Jeremy is a young filmmaker and I think he has a bright future ahead of him!
I included a video interview with James as well, so you can get to know a little bit more about the talented filmmaker.
