Insider Praises Rebooted X-MEN Script and Compares It to a Cross Between THUNDERBOLTS*, BATMAN V SUPERMAN and THE BREAKFAST CLUB
The X-Men are finally joining the MCU, and fans are stoked to see their arrival. We have already been introduced to some of the old members from the previous franchises, as well as one newcomer that made her debut in
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but aside from cast announcements, we don’t have a lot of insight into what that first film will look like. But according to one insider who has supposedly read the script, we have a lot to look forward to.
According to insider @MyTimeToShineH (via CBM), "A source recently read the script for the MCU’s X-Men reboot and had nothing but praise for it." The source then went on to describe the story as, "If Thunderbolts*, X-Men: First Class, Batman v Superman, and The Breakfast Club had a baby, it would be this."
This sounds promising! You have the team of misfits element from both Thunderbolts* and The Breakfast Club, with the latter bringing a youthful angst. Then a gritty superhero struggle angle from X-Men: First Class and Batman v Superman.
This is just one person’s opinion, and just a rumor for now, so we will have to wait and see how it all shakes out.
X-Men is being directed by Jake Schreier and is expected to hit theaters on May 5, 2028.
