INSIDIOUS 5 Gets a Release Date; MADAME WEB Release Pushed Back

Sony Pictures has pushed the release of their Marvel movie Madame Web back from July 7th, 2023 to October 6th, 2023. The studio also announced that Insidious 5 has a release date, and they slipped it into the July 7th spot.

S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones and The Defenders) is directing the movie from a script by Morbius writers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The movie stars Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts, Adam Scott, and Tahar Rahim.

Madame Web is a blind psychic that has become a major player in the world of Spider-Man due to her ties to “The Great Web,” a multiversal construct that ties all “Spider” characters together across the multiverse.

As for Insidious 5, Patrick Wilson is set to reprise his role in the James Wan-produced horror film. Scott Teems wrote the script for the film, which is based on a story by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell. Jason Blum will produce the film for Blumhouse, along with Wan and Whannell.

The film is said to “provide an amazing chance to unpack everything the Lamberts went through a decade ago, as well as deal with the consequences of their choices.”

I’m a fan of the Insidious franchise, and I’m excited to see the story of the Lambert family continue.
