Inspiring Trailer for Netflix Documentary AUDIBLE About Deaf High School Athletes

Netflix has released the first trailer for their upcoming documentary short Audible, which follows athletes from a deaf high school who push themselves to go nearly undefeated during a football season. The doc tells the personal story of “Amaree McKenstry-Hall and his Maryland School for the Deaf teammates attempt to defend their winning streak while also coming to terms with the tragic loss of a close friend. The graduating students face mounting pressures of entering the hearing world while tackling adversity and demanding to be heard in this moving coming-of-age story.” The doc is made by Matt Ogens (Go North, Go + Away).

Audible is a cinematic and immersive coming of age documentary following Maryland School for the Deaf high school athlete Amaree McKenstry and his close friends as they face the pressures of senior year and grappling with the realities of venturing off into the hearing world. Amaree and his teammates take out their frustrations on the football field as they battle to protect an unprecedented winning streak, while coming to terms with the tragic loss of a close friend. This is a story about kids who stand up to adversity. They face conflict, but approach the future with hope – shouting out to the world that they exist and they matter. in select US theaters

This looks so inspiring and well-done. I love a sports story, an underdog story, an inspirational documentary, and this looks like all these things rolled into one. Check out the trailer and poster below, and watch Audible in select US theaters, and on Netflix on July 1st.
