Inspiring Trailer For True Story of Australia's First Female Jockey RIDE LIKE A GIRL with Teresa Palmer

This trailer has everything I could want. It’s a true story; it’s a sports story; it’s a story about a girl who perseveres and breaks through the glass ceiling in a sport that was dominated by men; there are horses. I love a good sports movie that will tug at my heartstrings, and this looks like it will absolutely do the job.

Ride Like a Girl is the inspiring true story of Michelle Payne, the first female jockey to not only compete in, but win, the Melbourne Cup. Sorry if that’s a spoiler, but if you’ve ever watched a movie like this, you probably could have figured it out. If they made a movie about it, then she probably won.

Payne is played by Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, Hacksaw Ridge), who is beautiful and reminds me of Kristen Stewart, except she can act. She is joined by Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, Thor: Ragnarok), Sullivan Stapleton (Blindspot), Stevie Payne (as himself), Genevieve MorrisSophia ForrestHenry NixonAaron Glenane, and Zara Zoe.

Ride Like a Girl hits Australian theaters September 26th, and we will hopefully hear soon when it will get a US release date. Enjoy the poster above and the trailer below and let us know if you’re excited to see Ride Like a Girl when it rides into theaters.
