Intense New Trailer For Emily Blunt and Josh Brolin's Drug Cartel Thriller SICARIO
I was already sold on Sicario after I watched the first trailer, but today we have a new one for you to check out for the awesomely intense-looking film. The movie stars Emily Blunt, who blew me away with her work in Edge of Tomorrow, brings that same badass intensity to this new movie. The film is a drug cartel thriller directed by Denis Villeneuve, an it also has a great supporting cast that includes Benicio Del Toro, Jon Bernthal, Josh Brolin, Jeffrey Donovan, and Victor Garber.
In Mexico, SICARIO means hitman.
In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent [Emily Blunt] is enlisted by an elite government task force official [Josh Brolin] to aid in the escalating war against drugs.
Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past [Benicio Del Toro], the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.
The main story focuses on a secret CIA operation that is formed to take down a Mexican cartel boss. This is a mission that ends up pushing Blunt's character's ethical and moral values to the limit. When talking about the movie with The Guardian, the director said:
"It's about the alienation of the cycles of violence, how at one point we are in those spirals of violence and ask ourselves, 'Is there a solution?' My movie raises the question; it doesn't give any answer."
Sicario will be released in theaters on September 18th.
