Intense New Trailer for Sci-Fi Thriller EX MACHINA

Alex Garland's Ex Machina is one of my most anticipated films of 2015, and A24 has just released the first official U.S. trailer for the upcoming sci-fi thriller. It reveals more footage than we've seen in previous trailers, and also hints at more nefarious motivations for Oscar Isaac's character that I didn't glean from our other looks at this movie so far. I love this movie's premise, and I can't wait to see what Garland - the writer behind 28 Days Later, Dredd, Never Let Me Go, and more - does in his directorial debut.

Ex Machina premieres at this year's SXSW Film Festival on March 14th, and then opens in U.S. theaters on April 10th. Looking forward to this one?

Caleb Smith (Domhnall Gleeson), a programmer at an internet-search giant, wins a competition to spend a week at the private mountain estate of the company's brilliant and reclusive CEO, Nathan Bateman (Oscar Isaac).

Upon his arrival, Caleb learns that Nathan has chosen him to be the human component in a Turing Test—charging him with evaluating the capabilities, and ultimately the consciousness, of Nathan’s latest experiment in artificial intelligence.
