Intense Trailer for Joe Carnahan's NOT WITHOUT HOPE Based on True Story of a Deep-Sea Boating Rescue
A great full trailer has been released for the drama Not Without Hope, a film based on the true story of a group of friends who go deep sea fishing, and end up fighting for their lives in an epic storm.
The film stars Zachary Levi as Nick Schuyler, Quentin Plair as Marquis Cooper, Terrence Terrell as Corey Smith, Marshall Cook as Will Bleakley, with Josh Duhamel as the Coast Guard Captain and JoBeth Williams as Marcia.
The movie is directed by Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces, The A-Team, The Grey) from a screenplay he co-wrote with E. Nicholas Mariani. The script is based on the book of the same name by Nick Schuyler and Jere Longman.
The synopsis reads: “An extraordinary true story. Best friends Nick Schuyler (Zachary Levi) and Will Bleakley (Marshall Cook), and NFL players Marquis Cooper (Quentin Plair) and Corey Smith (Terrence Terrell), depart Clearwater, FL for a fishing trip 70 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico.
“While attempting to free a trapped anchor before a storm hits, their boat capsizes, throwing the friends violently into the freezing water. US Coast Guard Cpt.
“Timothy Close (Josh Duhamel) and his crew, beaten back in their air rescue efforts, summon their largest ship to cut through the raging ocean as the group battles massive waves, dehydration, hypothermia, and even sharks, in their epic struggle to survive & return to their loved ones.”
