Intense Trailer for Political Thriller OFFICIAL SECRETS Starring Keira Knightley

We have a pretty intense trailer for you today for the film Official Secrets, based on the true story of Katharine Gun, the British whistle blower who leaked classified information to the press about an illegal NSA spy operation that was intended to push the UN Security Council into sanctioning the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Keira Knightly (The Imitation Game) stars in the role of Gun and is joined in the cast by Matt Smith (Doctor Who), Matthew Goode (The Imitation Game), Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter), and Rhys Ifans (Notting Hill).

It’s always interesting to see films like this get made once enough time has passed that the story can be released. It’s so crazy to put the pieces of history together in hindsight. I am excited for this film, and I think it looks really interesting and well-acted. Check out the trailer below and let us know if you’re interested in this story.

Official Secrets hits theaters on August 23, 2019.

IN CINEMAS SOON. In 2003, as politicians in Britain and the US angle to invade Iraq, GCHQ translator Katharine Gun leaks a classified e-mail that urges spying on members of the UN Security Council to force through the resolution to go to war.
