Intense Trailer for Starz's FIGHTLAND, a British Boxing Drama Fueled by Revenge and Crime
Starz has released the first trailer for Fightland, and it looks like this series is bringing a lot more to the table than boxing. Sure, there are hard-hitting fights in the ring, but the real battle plays out in London's criminal underworld, where revenge, betrayal, and old wounds collide in a dangerous fight for survival.
Fightland follows Duke Kilroy, played by Howard Charles, on a brutal journey that begins at the highest point of his life before everything comes crashing down.
On the very night Duke becomes the British-born world heavyweight champion, tragedy strikes when his brother Calvin is murdered in a vicious attack. Devastated by the loss, Duke's actions in the aftermath land him in a U.S. prison for eight years.
When he's finally released, Duke uncovers a sinister truth that sends him back home with one goal in mind. He believes he was betrayed by his former promoter and powerful criminal kingpin, Nicholas Pinnock's Kingsley Marshall, and he's determined to make him pay.
There's just one problem. Kingsley has disappeared. With his target nowhere to be found, Duke turns his attention to the empire Kingsley left behind. That includes his wife Joy, played by Deborah Ayorinde, who also happens to be the woman Duke has always loved.
As Duke works his way deeper into the criminal organization, he finds himself caught in an increasingly dangerous power struggle involving a cartel that's determined to take control of London's drug trade.
To get the revenge he's after, Duke will have to use every ounce of discipline, toughness, and determination that once made him a world champion. But with rival factions, shifting loyalties, and personal relationships pulling him in every direction, taking down Kingsley's empire may prove to be the toughest fight of his life.
