Intense Trailer for the Norwegian Horror Film POSSESSION
Samuel Goldwyn Films has released the trailer for an upcoming Norwegian horror film titled Possession. This looks like a haunting slow burn kind of film that builds tension. The story follows a priest who is looking to build a church on an old Sami burial ground, which obviously isn’t the best idea.
The synopsis for the film reads:
While the Spanish flu epidemic is sweeping across the continent, a priest and his son return home to their family in rural Norway from missionary service in Madagascar. The priest has been tasked with deciding the location of a new church for the local mining company, which reveals itself to be on top of an old Sami burial ground. When the priest decides to have the remains dug up and removed, the dead come alive and haunt the settlers.
The movie was written and directed by Henrik M. Dahlsbakken, and it stars Jan Sælid, Eva Nergård, and Tarjei Sandvik Moe. This looks like an atmospheric and dark horror movie that explores how religion can play tricks on the minds of people.
The film is opening in Norway in October, and Samuel Goldwyn Films will release it in select US theaters and on VOD on October 7th, 2022.
