Intensely Emotional and Visually Captivating Trailer for A MILLION LITTLE PIECES with Aaron Taylor-Johnson

The best-selling 2003 memoir A Million Little Pieces has been adapted into a film depicting the drug recovery of author James Frey. While the book was later faced with controversy for not being 100% factual, it is still a (mostly) true story of a young man in crisis in the fight for his life.

Actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass, Avengers: Age of Ultron) stars as James Frey, in the film directed by his wife, Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy, 50 Shades of Grey). The two adapted the screenplay together for the film. The cast also includes Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy), Billy Bob Thornton (Sling Blade), Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers), Giovanni Ribisi (Sneaky Pete), David Dastmalchian (Ant-Man), Odessa Young (Assassination Nation), Dash Mihok (Silver Linings Playbook), Eugene Byrd (Sleepers), Andy Buckley (The Office) and Tom Amandes (Everwood).

Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

An alcoholic and a drug addict, 23 year-old James (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) has two options: treatment or death. After waking up on a plane with a smashed up face and no memory of the past few weeks, he heads to rehab where he discovers much more than detox and therapy. As James endures the white-knuckle journey of mending his broken body, he heals his broken soul by connecting with other kindred spirits who also yearn and fight for a better life.

I read this book back when it came out, so I am really excited to see it adapted. I love the cast, and I love the imagery used in the film. It looks like it’s going to be provocative and well done. Check out the trailer and poster below, and see A Million Little Pieces in theaters this fall.
