International Trailer Released for X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX
A new international trailer has been released for director Simon Kinberg’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix. While it doesn’t offer a lot of new footage, it is different from the first trailer that was released, and it also serves as a reminder, that yes, this movie is going to eventually be released.
I do hope that this movie ends up being good. The last two films were mediocre, though, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Fox reportedly asked Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige to review the script and tone for the film, so hopefully he helped steer the creative team in the right direction.
In Dark Phoenix, the X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling our of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite - not only to save Jean's soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.
Dark Phoenix sees the return of James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Sophie Grace, and Alexandra Shipp. Jessica Chastain will be taking on the role of a mysterious villain in the story.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be released on June 7th, 2019.
