Intriguing Teaser Trailer for Netflix's Adapted Series RIPLEY Starring Andrew Scott and Dakota Fanning

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for their adapted series Ripley, based on author Patricia Highsmith’s classic thriller novel, The Talented Mr. Ripley, which was adapted into a 1999 movie of the same name. This series will dive even deeper into the story, and it stars Emmy-nominee Andrew Scott (Sherlock, Fleabag, All of us Strangers), Dakota Fanning (I Am Sam, The Alienist), and Johnny Flynn (Emma., The Outfit), as well as Pasquale Esposito, Franco Silvestri, Eliot Sumner, and John Malkovich.

The series is written and directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Steven Zaillian. The synopsis reads:

“In the series, Tom Ripley, a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son Dickie Greenleaf to return home. Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud, and murder. Meanwhile, Marge Sherwood, an American living in Italy, suspects darker motives underlie Tom’s affability.”

This looks pretty good. The movie was excellent, but it might be cool to see the expanded version with more details and story to explore. Check out the trailer below, and watch Ripley on Netflix on April 4th.
