IRON FIST Star Finn Jones Joins Michael Sheen in Serial Killer Thriller PRODIGAL SON
Iron Fist star Finn Jones has found his next project. The actor has been cast in a new serial killer crime thriller for Fox called Prodigal Son. Finn will join the previously cast Michael Sheen, Bellamy Young, and Lou Diamond Phillips.
The one-hour series will center on a character named Malcolm Bright, who will be played by Jones. Bright is “an acclaimed criminal psychologist. He knows how killers think, how their minds work. Why? His father (Sheen) was one of the worst — a notorious serial killer called ‘The Surgeon.’ He will use his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers, all while dealing with a manipulative mother, annoyingly normal sister, a homicidal father still looking to bond with his prodigal son, and his own constantly evolving neuroses.” The character is also said to be and “intelligent but deeply damaged person”. He also has “a self-deprecating sense of humor and a surprising level of compassion.”
Sheen will take on the role of Martin Whitly, “Malcolm Bright’s intelligent, wealthy, charismatic father who also happens to be a predatory sociopath that murdered more than 20 people. Martin was once a devoted family man and successful cardiothoracic surgeon with high-profile patients.”
The series comes from writers Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver (Deception) and the show is described as “a fresh take on a crime franchise with a provocative and outrageous lead character and darkly comedic tone.”
Greg Berlanti (Arrow, Flash,Supergirl) is a producer on the series and it sounds like a show that I’d enjoy. What do you all think about Jones’ next series role?
