Is Armie Hammer Playing Green Lantern in the DCEU?

Sometimes, all it takes is someone following someone else on Twitter to get internet sleuths to start theorizing. And the latest hubbub involves the future of Green Lantern in the DC Extended Universe.

Over the past few days, DC's Geoff Johns started following The Social Network and The Lone Ranger star Armie Hammer on Twitter, and Hammer followed him as well. As you know, WB has announced a Green Lantern Corps movie, and there have been some rumors that Green Lantern may appear in Zack Snyder's upcoming Justice League (it wouldn't truly be the Justice League without him, would it?). Now, just because the role of Green Lantern is currently unfilled and Hammer — an actor with leading man looks, tentpole movie experience, and a past history with not only superhero movies, but specifically a Justice League movie that never got off the ground — has a little flurry of Twitter activity, that's nowhere close to an official casting announcement. But it's not nothing, either.

And as ComicBook pointed out to us, Hammer humorously trolled fans who were thinking an announcement was imminent:

Nicely done. But Joe Manganiello, who's playing Deathstroke in the DCEU, tweeted something at Hammer that will have fans right back in skeptical mode:

I would not be surprised to see some official casting in the next couple of days, so keep your eyes peeled. What do you think? Is Hammer a good choice for the next Hal Jordan, or would you like to see him play a different Lantern instead? (This could all be nothing, by the way...remember, some people thought Hammer might be playing Ant-Man back in the day.)
