Is Captain America a Virgin? What Did Tony Stark Do During the Blip? The SHE-HULK Series Has Answers!
One of the questions that Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters has on her mind all through the first episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is if Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, is a virgin. It’s just one of those things that she seems obsessed with, and it’s an obsession that almost lasted the entire season!
While speaking to Variety, series creator Jessica Gao revealed that the running gag about Captain America’s virginity originally lasted all season:
"We just started putting it in scripts. There used to be a season-long runner where the thing that is constantly gnawing away at Jen is this question of whether or not Steve Rogers had ever had sex. You just regularly see her like googling it, talking about it. You got the sense that she was just constantly pestering people in her life, this question that was burning away at her soul. I can't describe to you how thrilled and shocked I was that not only was Kevin on board with answering the question, that he supplied me with the canon answer."
In the end, they just ended up playing with this in the first episode, and at the end of it, during the post-credits scene, She-Hulk and the rest of the Marvel fans get their answer.
Mark Ruffallo’s Bruce Banner reveals in the scene that "Steve Rogers is not a virgin. He lost his virginity to a girl in 1943 on the USO tour." Walters is excited to learn this news and exclaims, "CAPTAIN AMERICA FUC-" before getting cut off. So, there’s the answer!
As for Tony Stark and what he was doing during the Blip, it was revealed in the show that he and Bruce Banner were hanging out in Mexico. Hulk explains that Stark built the gamma lab, and that it was on loan until they faced Thanos.
Together they experimented on Banner’s blood, and Stark also apparently complained a lot about Captain America, which makes sense. It’s also hinted that Banner is still not over the loss of his friends and has retreated back to his lab.
I enjoyed the first episode of She-Hulk, and I hope that it continues to be good. What are your thoughts on these revelations about Captain America and Tony Stark?
