Is This a Sketch of the New Pennywise the Clown in Stephen King's IT Film Adaptation?
Stephen King's It is a favorite of mine, and I really hope that Mama director Andres Muschetti has what it takes to give fans the perfect film adaptation. He's currently developing the film, and he recently released a sketch he drew of Pennywise the Clown, who is being played by Bill Skarsgård in the film. I have no idea if this sketch is based on the clown design being used in the film, but if it is, it's creepy as hell and I can get behind that terrifying clown design.
The epic horror adventure will be split into two films. The first will focus on a group of friends known as "The Losers Club" as they face off with a terrifying monster who is killing kids in Derry, Maine. The second film is set 30 years later. The monster returns, and the group of old friends come back together to try and destroy the monster once and for all. Producer Roy Lee previously said:
“It is very close to the source material in one way but very different if you look at it as a literary piece of work… We’re taking it and making the movie from the point of view of the kids, and then making another movie from the point of view of the adults, that could potentially then be cut together like the novel. But it’s gonna be a really fun way of making this movie.”
The film also stars Jaeden Lieberher as Bill, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Wyatt Oleff as Eddie, Fin Wolfhard as Richie, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Nicholas Hamilton as Henry Bowers.
I have high hopes for this movie, and I hope to hell that Muschetti can pull it off! If this sketch indicates how he envisions Pennywise... so far so good.
