Isla Fisher and Jillian Bell to Star in GODMOTHERED at Disney+

Actresses Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers, Now You See Me) and Jillian Bell (Brittany Runs a Marathon, Bless the Harts) have signed on to star in a Disney+ original comedy film entitled Godmothered. Sharon McGuire (the Bridget Jones movies) is directing, with Kari Granlund (Lady and the Tramp) and Melissa Stack writing the script.

Here’s the synopsis from THR:

The story tells of a young and unskilled fairy godmother (Bell) that ventures out on her own to prove her worth by tracking down a young girl whose request for help was ignored. What she discovers is that the girl has now become a grown woman (Fisher) in need of something very different than a "Prince Charming.”

This sounds like a cute original twist on an old classic. Disney+ already had a great selection, but seems to have a huge lineup of originals they’re working on now for us to enjoy later this year. Production is set to begin later this month in Boston. Does this sound like a story you might like?
