ISLE OF DOGS Featurette Shows Some Love To The On-Set Dogs
If you're a dog lover, it's looking more and more like you're going to appreciate Wes Anderson's Isle of Dogs. Granted, I wasn't wholly convinced of that after watching the video of how Anderson treats dogs in his other films, but it looks like this film really captures the spirit of what makes the animal so great. Anderson deserves a lot of credit for that, but the film's dog crew does as well, as they were there throughout the process reminding the folks working on the set why dogs are so important to every day life. Check out a video of the dog crew, as well as the anatomy of a scene from the film, and get pumped for this film!:
Now Playing In Select Theaters, Everywhere April 6 ISLE OF DOGS tells the story of ATARI KOBAYASHI, 12-year-old ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When, by Executive Decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots.
In the stop-motion animated movie "Isle of Dogs," the director Wes Anderson stages a giant dog fight on a trash island. He and the animation team created a large, dark hill using miniature cathode ray tubes. They created smoke in the fight using cotton wadding. And they made water out of plastic wrap.
