IT Director Andy Muschietti Confirms THE FLASH is His Next Movie and He Calls it a "Beautiful Human Story"
DC’s The Flash movie has had a lot of issues over the years while it’s been in development. Several filmmakers have come and gone, and after the most recent directors, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, left the project IT director Andy Muschietti jumped on and in a recent interview with Fandango, he confirmed that it will be his next movie.
During the interview he was also asked if it will include elements of horror in it, and he explains that the will be a “beautiful human story.”
“An element of horror? I don’t think so. What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it. The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.”
Well, I’ve enjoyed the films that Muschietti has made and it’ll be great to see what he ends up doing with The Flash. He will direct the film from a script that is being written by Christina Hodson (Bumblebee, Birds of Prey) and Ezra Miller is still attached to the film and will reprise his role as Barry Allen.
It was previously reported that Miller wanted a darker take on the character and that led to a conflict with Daley and Goldstein who were making a film with a lighter tone. I imagine this latest version that is being developed will have a good mix of both dark and light.
