IT FOLLOWS Gets Cool Poster Art and Expanded Release

It Follows is a horror film that has been getting a lot of praise from film critics. I had the opportunity to see it up at Sundance, and I’m not sure what the big deal is about it. I really enjoyed the first half of the film, and the concept was great, but the execution of the second half of the movie was very disappointing. You can read my review of it here

We have a fun piece of '80s style throwback poster art for the film to share with you today, though. I do like that they actually released a poster like this that isn’t a generic piece of crap like we get for most posters these days.

Regardless of what I think of the movie, there’s an audience out there that is going to really enjoy it. In fact, the movie has been doing so well in the four theaters that it has been playing in that it will get an expended release. It opened up in about 40 theaters this weekend, and will roll out to over 1,000 next weekend.

For 19-year-old Jay, fall should be about school, boys and weekends out at the lake. But after a seemingly innocent sexual encounter, she finds herself plagued by strange visions and the inescapable sense that someone, or something, is following her. Faced with this burden, Jay and her teenage friends must find a way to escape the horrors that seem to be only a few steps behind.

Written and directed by David Robert Mitchell (The Myth of the American Sleepover), It Follows stars Maika Monroe, Keir Gilchrist, Daniel Zovatto, Olivia Luccardi, Jake Weary, and Lili Sepe.
