It Looks Like Disney Will Give THE NEW MUTANTS a Theatrical Release

There have been a lot of rumors and speculation regarding the release of Fox’s The New Mutants. Those rumors have suggested that the movie would skip the theatrical release and be released on Hulu or Disney+.

Well, today at CinemaCon, the Josh Boone directed film was promoted as being one of their theatrical releases of 2019, so it looks like The New Mutants will end up in theaters, which I’m really happy about.

The film has a release date of August 2nd. There have been a lot of talk of reshoots, but none of those reshoots have happened yet. Maybe Disney saw a cut of the film that they liked and maybe there’s a chance that the movie will never got through reshoots. Maybe they will just release the original cut of the film before Fox said they wanted to reshoot certain aspects of it.

That’s just speculation. I have no idea what is really going on with the film, but it looks like it will be headed to a nearby theater!

The movie stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Henry Zaga as Sunspot, and Blu Hunt as fallen Mirage and this is the synopsis:

Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves.
