It Looks Like Quentin Tarantino Has Moved On From Directing That R-Rated STAR TREK Film
After making Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Quentin Tarantino fans are eagerly waiting to see what his next and possibly final film project will be. He’s already talked about a couple of ideas like Kill Bill Vol. 3 and that R-rated Star Trek film. But, it looks like the Star Trek movie has been scratched off his list.
While speaking to Deadline recently, Tarantino said that he probably isn't going to direct the Star Trek film that he had pitched to J.J. Abrams and Paramount Pictures. But, he still thinks his idea will eventually get made. He said:
"I think they might make that movie, but I just don't think I’m going to direct it. It's a good idea. They should definitely do it and I'll be happy to come in and give them some notes on the first rough cut."
I am interested in seeing what Tarantino would do with a Star Trek movie, and if he made one, I’d definitely watch it. But, I’d be totally fine if he didn’t make the movie. In fact, I’d much rather see him develop a film based on one of his own original ideas.
Whatever Tarantino is planning for his next film, it’s going to be a while before we see it. The Filmmaker previously revealed that he’s developing a book as well as producing a play and a TV series. You can read about those projects here.
